The truth is they wait and see if they can spam bloggers with hundreds of hits, if the blogger just deletes it from their email it's not actually removed from the comment section. and so when another unsuspecting reader clicks through by accident, curriousity or horror, these bastards get paid. Hence their motivation.
Just make sure you block their IP address. If they persist block their entire segment of IP addresses. There are some sick people out there, so don't hesitate to delete....afterall, it's your site.
